Mud volcano Ahtarma-Pashaly

It is one of the largest mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan which absolute height is 300m. It is situated 35km north-north-west off Shirvan town within south-east Shirvan area. Mud volcano crater has not been preserved, whereas its oval crater field is quite large – 10sq km. Total area occupied by outburst mud breccias measures about 400 he, which volumetric volume amounts to 16B cu m a d its thickness varies from 100-300m in margins and up to 600m (in its central part).
